How do you do Circadian Lighting Design?
- 1.Morning (6-9am): use bright, blue-rich light (5000-6500K color temperature) or get 15-30 minutes of direct sunlight exposure to suppress melatonin and anchor your circadian clock
- 2.Midday (9am-4pm): maintain bright cool-white lighting (4000-5000K) in your workspace; position desk near windows for natural daylight
- 3.Evening transition (4-7pm): switch to warm-white lighting (3000K); remove overhead fluorescents in favor of side-lighting and lamps
- 4.Pre-sleep (7pm-bed): use amber or red lighting (2100-2700K); install smart bulbs that auto-dim and shift warm, or use dedicated amber bulbs in bedroom and bathroom; enable night mode on all screens
- 5.Night: achieve complete darkness for sleep; use blackout curtains and cover all LED indicators; if you need a nightlight, use red/amber only (these wavelengths don't suppress melatonin)
