How do you do Journaling Frameworks?

  1. 1.Morning Pages (Julia Cameron): write 3 pages of stream-of-consciousness longhand first thing each morning before any other mental activity; this clears mental debris and surfaces subconscious concerns
  2. 2.Evening Review (Stoic): spend 10 minutes answering: What went well today? Where did I fall short? What did I learn? What will I do differently tomorrow?
  3. 3.Pennebaker Expressive Writing: for 4 consecutive days, write for 20 minutes about a deeply emotional experience; research shows this reduces doctor visits by 43% and improves immune markers
  4. 4.CBT Thought Record: when distressed, record the Situation, Automatic Thought, Emotion (0-10), Evidence For the thought, Evidence Against, Balanced Thought, and new Emotion rating
  5. 5.Pick one method and commit to 30 days before evaluating; consistency matters more than technique

How long does it take?

15-30 min/day.

Is it hard to start?

easy.
