The Elimination Diet Protocol
Nutrition & Brain Health · Hard · 3-4 weeks elimination + 3-4 weeks reintroduction
What is The Elimination Diet Protocol?
A systematic removal and reintroduction of common inflammatory foods to identify personal triggers. Reddit's r/Biohacking community reports this as one of the most transformative interventions for brain fog, low energy, skin issues, and mood problems. The revelation for many: a food they ate daily (often dairy or gluten) was the root cause of chronic brain fog they'd had for years.
Is there evidence for it?
EVIDENCEStrong — gold standard for food sensitivity identification, widespread clinical use
How do you do The Elimination Diet Protocol?
- 1.For 3-4 weeks, completely remove: gluten, dairy, soy, corn, eggs, sugar, alcohol, and processed food
- 2.Eat: vegetables, fruits, quality meats, fish, rice, nuts/seeds, olive oil
- 3.Keep a daily journal tracking: energy (1-10), mental clarity (1-10), mood, digestion, sleep quality, skin
- 4.After 3-4 weeks, reintroduce ONE food group every 3 days
- 5.When reintroducing: eat a significant amount of that food and track symptoms for 72 hours
- 6.If symptoms return (fog, fatigue, bloating, skin flare), that food is a trigger — remove it permanently
- 7.If no symptoms: that food is safe — keep it and move to the next reintroduction
- 8.Common triggers discovered: dairy (40% of people), gluten (25%), eggs, corn, soy
