The Weekly Review Practice
Productivity & Life Management · Moderate (requires having some system to review) · 30-60 minutes once per week
What is The Weekly Review Practice?
A 30-60 minute weekly ritual where you review everything: open tasks, calendar, goals, finances, and projects. Originally from GTD (Getting Things Done), but adapted by r/productivity into a more personal practice. Users report it's the single practice that prevents life from 'falling through the cracks.' The feeling of having complete clarity about all your commitments is described as profoundly calming.

How do you do The Weekly Review Practice?
- 1.Block 30-60 minutes every Sunday evening (or Friday afternoon — whatever works)
- 2.GET CLEAR: Process all inboxes to zero (email, notes, physical inbox, saved messages)
- 3.GET CURRENT: Review calendar for past week (any loose ends?) and next week (prepared?)
- 4.Review all active projects: are they moving forward? What's the next action for each?
- 5.Review 'Waiting For' list: anything you're waiting on from others?
- 6.GET CREATIVE: Review your goals (quarterly/annual). Are your weekly actions aligned?
- 7.Identify your top 3 priorities for the coming week
- 8.End with a brain dump: anything buzzing in your head that needs a home in your system
How long does it take?
30-60 minutes once per week.
Is it hard to start?
