How do you do Burnout Audit (Maslach Burnout Inventory Framework)?
- 1.Self-assess on three dimensions: emotional exhaustion (feeling drained), depersonalization (cynicism toward work/people), reduced accomplishment (feeling ineffective)
- 2.If primarily emotional exhaustion: focus on recovery — sleep, time off, reduced workload. This is the 'fuel tank is empty' type
- 3.If primarily depersonalization/cynicism: focus on meaning — reconnect with purpose, spend time with mentees, revisit original motivation for your career
- 4.If primarily reduced accomplishment: focus on competence — seek training, take on a project where you can succeed, get mentoring
- 5.Address workplace factors (not just personal coping): workload, control, reward, community, fairness, and values alignment — Maslach identified these as the six organizational causes
