Values Realignment Audit

What is Values Realignment Audit?
Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) research by Steven Hayes. Chronic stress often signals a misalignment between how you're spending your time and what you actually value. This structured audit identifies gaps between stated values and lived behavior, then creates actionable realignment steps.

How do you do Values Realignment Audit?
- 1.List your top 5-7 core values (family, creativity, adventure, financial security, health, etc.) — use a values card sort if unsure
- 2.For each value, rate on 1-10: how important it is to you, and how much your current life reflects it
- 3.Identify the biggest gaps — a value rated 9/10 importance but 3/10 lived is a critical misalignment causing chronic distress
- 4.For each gap, define one small committed action you can take this week that moves the needle (not a dramatic life overhaul)
- 5.Review monthly: track whether gaps are closing. If not, examine what barriers you're avoiding and whether your stated values are truly yours or inherited from others
How long does it take?
2 hours for initial audit, 30 minutes monthly review.
