What is MovNat (Natural Movement)?

A physical education system founded by Erwan Le Corre based on natural human movement skills: walking, running, balancing, jumping, crawling, climbing, swimming, lifting, carrying, throwing, catching, and self-defense. Designed to reclaim movement competencies lost to modern sedentary life. Practices are ideally performed outdoors using natural terrain and objects. Not a workout program but a movement skill development system.

How do you do MovNat (Natural Movement)?

  1. 1.Assess your natural movement competency across the 13 skills: walk, run, balance, jump, crawl, climb, swim, lift, carry, throw, catch, strike, grapple — note weaknesses
  2. 2.Practice foundational locomotion: barefoot walking on varied terrain (grass, gravel, hills), deep squat sitting for 5 minutes, balancing on logs or curbs for distance
  3. 3.Train ground movement and crawling: hand-foot crawl forward/backward (10 meters), side shuffle crawl, get-up/get-down practice (floor to standing, 10 reps varied methods)
  4. 4.Practice manipulation skills in a natural environment: lift and carry a heavy rock or log for 50 meters, throw and catch stones at a target, vault over a low wall or fence
  5. 5.Combine skills into a natural movement circuit outdoors: walk 200m -> balance on curb 20m -> crawl under obstacle -> climb over wall -> carry heavy object 50m -> sprint 100m

How long does it take?

30-60 minutes, 3-4 times per week.
