Rapamycin-Mimetic Lifestyle

Lifestyle / Biohacking · hard · Integrated into daily eating/exercise schedule; FMD periods: 5 days quarterly

What is Rapamycin-Mimetic Lifestyle?

mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin) activity increases with age and drives age-related diseases including cancer, atherosclerosis, diabetes, and immune decline. Rapamycin, the drug, extends lifespan in mice, but long-term human safety is unknown. A rapamycin-mimetic lifestyle uses fasting, exercise, and specific compounds to cyclically suppress mTOR — alternating periods of stress/suppression with recovery for optimal results.

Is there evidence for it?

EVIDENCEmoderate — rapamycin extends lifespan in all tested organisms; lifestyle mTOR suppression through fasting and exercise is mechanistically sound; cyclical approach supported by emerging evidence but lacks large human longevity trials

How do you do Rapamycin-Mimetic Lifestyle?

  1. 1.Cycle between mTOR suppression and activation: fast 16-18 hours 3-4 days/week (suppresses mTOR), then eat adequate protein on training days (activates mTOR for muscle building)
  2. 2.Perform fasting-mimicking diets (FMD): 5 consecutive days of ~800 cal/day, high-fat low-protein, 1-4 times per year to deeply suppress mTOR
  3. 3.Include mTOR-suppressing compounds in diet: green tea (EGCG), curcumin, quercetin (500 mg), and extra virgin olive oil daily
  4. 4.Exercise in a fasted state 2-3x/week to amplify AMPK activation and mTOR suppression
  5. 5.After fasting or FMD periods, refeed with high-quality protein (30-40g) within 1 hour of breaking fast to rebuild via controlled mTOR activation

How long does it take?
