How do you do 5-Minute Morning Meditation?
- 1.Sit comfortably (chair, cushion, bed — doesn't matter). Set a timer for 5 minutes. Close your eyes
- 2.Focus on your breath: feel the air entering and leaving your nostrils. Don't change your breathing — just observe it
- 3.When your mind wanders (it will, within seconds), gently notice 'thinking' and return to the breath. This noticing IS the exercise — like a bicep curl for your attention
- 4.Start with 5 minutes for 2 weeks. Only increase if you want to. Many experienced meditators stick with 5-10 minutes and get enormous benefit
- 5.Use a guided app if needed (Waking Up, Insight Timer, Headspace) or just the timer. Guided vs. unguided doesn't matter — consistency matters
How long does it take?
5 minutes per day.
Is it hard to start?
