Social Media Audit & Curate

What is Social Media Audit & Curate?

Your feed is your mental diet. Audit who you follow: unfollow everyone who makes you feel worse about yourself, and deliberately follow accounts that educate, inspire, or genuinely make you laugh. A curated feed is a tool. An uncurated feed is a weapon against you.

Is there evidence for it?

How do you do Social Media Audit & Curate?

  1. 1.Spend 30 minutes going through every account you follow on your main platform. For each, ask: 'Does this account make me feel inspired, educated, or genuinely happy? Or does it make me feel anxious, inadequate, or angry?'
  2. 2.Unfollow/mute anyone in the second category. No exceptions. Yes, even friends who only post toxic content — mute, don't unfollow if needed socially
  3. 3.Deliberately follow 10-20 accounts in areas you want to grow: health, skills, humor, philosophy, creativity. Make your feed a curriculum, not a casino
  4. 4.Turn off all notifications except direct messages from real friends. Every notification is an interruption designed to bring you back to the app
  5. 5.Repeat this audit every 3 months. Your feed drifts back toward engagement-bait over time as algorithms learn what triggers your attention

How long does it take?

30 minutes for the audit, then better daily experience.

Is it hard to start?

easy.
