What is Delayed Caffeine Protocol?

Waiting 90-120 minutes after waking before consuming caffeine to allow natural adenosine clearance. Prevents the afternoon crash caused by masking (rather than clearing) sleep pressure, and amplifies caffeine's alertness effect.

How do you do Delayed Caffeine Protocol?

  1. 1.Set a caffeine window: no coffee until 90-120 minutes after your wake time
  2. 2.Use morning sunlight, cold water face splash, and movement to build natural alertness first
  3. 3.When you do have caffeine, it will feel more potent because adenosine has already been partially cleared
  4. 4.If this feels impossible, start by delaying just 30 minutes and gradually extend over 2 weeks
  5. 5.Pair with the 2pm caffeine cutoff for a complete caffeine management protocol

How long does it take?
