What is Strategic Incompetence Elimination?
Identify 3-5 tasks you're uniquely bad at or hate doing, and systematically remove them from your life: delegate, automate, outsource, or simply stop doing them. Your time spent on weaknesses is time stolen from your strengths.

How do you do Strategic Incompetence Elimination?
- 1.List every recurring task in your work and personal life. Rate each: energy given (1-10) and skill level (1-10)
- 2.Flag tasks that score low on BOTH energy and skill. These are your 'incompetence zones' — things you hate AND suck at
- 3.For each flagged task, choose: DELEGATE (pay someone — cleaners, VAs, accountants), AUTOMATE (software, templates, systems), SIMPLIFY (do a worse but sufficient version), or ELIMINATE (stop doing it entirely — some tasks don't actually need doing)
- 4.Start with one task this week. The time and mental energy you reclaim goes toward your highest-value activities. The ROI is enormous
- 5.Revisit quarterly. As your life changes, new incompetence zones appear. The goal isn't to be good at everything — it's to spend 80%+ of your time in your zone of genius
How long does it take?
