How do you do Acupressure Self-Treatment?
- 1.Learn 5 key pressure points: LI4 (between thumb and index finger — headaches, pain), PC6 (inner wrist, 3 finger-widths from crease — nausea, anxiety), GV20 (top of head — focus, mood), Yintang (between eyebrows — insomnia, stress), ST36 (4 finger-widths below kneecap — energy, digestion)
- 2.Apply firm, steady pressure with thumb or fingertip for 1-3 minutes per point; you should feel a dull ache or 'deqi' sensation — this means you've found the right spot
- 3.For insomnia: press Yintang (third eye point) and HT7 (wrist crease, pinky side) for 2 minutes each while lying in bed with slow breathing
- 4.For anxiety: use the 'calming sequence' — PC6 on both wrists for 1 minute, then Yintang for 1 minute, then GV20 for 1 minute, all while breathing slowly
- 5.Practice daily at the same time (e.g., morning energy routine: ST36 + LI4; evening wind-down: Yintang + HT7) to build cumulative benefits
How long does it take?
5-15 min/day.
Is it hard to start?
