What is Power Posing Before High-Stakes Moments?
Hold an expansive, open body posture (arms wide, chest open, feet apart) for 2 minutes before interviews, presentations, or difficult conversations. While the testosterone/cortisol claims are debated, the self-perception and behavioral effects are robust: you feel more confident and perform better.

How do you do Power Posing Before High-Stakes Moments?
- 1.Find a private space (bathroom, empty room, your car) 2 minutes before a high-stakes moment: interview, presentation, negotiation, date, difficult conversation
- 2.Stand in the 'Wonder Woman' or 'Victory V': feet shoulder-width apart, hands on hips OR arms raised in a V. Chest open, chin slightly up. Take up as much space as possible
- 3.Hold for a full 2 minutes. Breathe slowly and deeply. Visualize yourself succeeding at whatever you're about to do. Feel the physical sensation of taking up space
- 4.The behavioral effects are well-supported even if the hormonal claims are debated: people who power pose report feeling more confident, take more risks, and are rated as more competent by others
- 5.Also works in reverse: notice when you're making yourself small (crossed arms, hunched, looking down). These postures reinforce insecurity. Catch and correct throughout the day
