What is Mindful Eating Practice?

Eat one meal per day with zero distractions: no phone, no TV, no book, no conversation. Just you and the food. Chew each bite 20-30 times. Notice textures, flavors, temperatures. This single practice reduces overeating by 25-30%, improves digestion, and transforms your relationship with food.

How do you do Mindful Eating Practice?

  1. 1.Pick one meal per day (lunch is easiest). Put your phone in another room. Turn off the TV. Sit at a table with just your plate
  2. 2.Before eating: look at your food. Notice colors, arrangement, smell. Take one deep breath. This 10-second pause shifts your brain from 'consumption mode' to 'appreciation mode'
  3. 3.Chew each bite 20-30 times. This feels painfully slow at first. Your jaw will get tired. But thorough chewing improves digestion (digestion starts in the mouth) and gives satiety hormones time to activate
  4. 4.Put your fork down between bites. This single trick slows eating by 40-50%. When your fork is down, you can actually notice how full you're getting
  5. 5.After 2 weeks of daily practice: you'll naturally eat 20-30% less because you're actually registering fullness signals. You'll enjoy food more because you're tasting it. And digestive issues often resolve because you're chewing properly

How long does it take?

Same time as eating, just more intentional.

Is it hard to start?
