Somatic Shaking (TRE - Tension Release Exercises)

What is Somatic Shaking (TRE - Tension Release Exercises)?
Intentionally induce tremoring/shaking in your body to release stored tension and trauma. Animals do this naturally after a threat (a gazelle shakes after escaping a lion). Humans suppress this reflex, trapping stress in the body. TRE unlocks it. 15 minutes of shaking can release months of stored tension.

How do you do Somatic Shaking (TRE - Tension Release Exercises)?
- 1.Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Do wall-sits or deep squats until your legs start trembling from fatigue (2-3 minutes)
- 2.Lie on your back, knees bent, feet flat on the floor. Let the tremoring continue and spread. Don't control it — let your body shake however it wants to
- 3.The shaking may spread from legs to hips, torso, arms, even jaw. This is normal and healthy. Your psoas muscle (the deepest hip flexor, connected to fight-or-flight) is releasing stored tension
- 4.Continue for 10-15 minutes. The shaking often changes rhythm — fast, slow, big, subtle. Some people experience emotional release (tears, laughter). Let it happen
- 5.Start with 10-minute sessions 2x per week. After doing TRE regularly, many people report: less anxiety, better sleep, reduced chronic pain, emotional lightness, and a sense of physical freedom they haven't felt in years
How long does it take?
15 minutes, 2x per week.
