What is Mindful Eating?

Eating with full attention to colors, smells, flavors, textures, hunger signals, and satiety cues — without screens, reading, or rushing. Reduces overeating and improves relationship with food.

How do you do Mindful Eating?

  1. 1.Start with one meal per week eaten mindfully — no phone, TV, or reading
  2. 2.Before eating, pause and rate your hunger on a scale of 1-10
  3. 3.Take small bites, chew thoroughly (20-30 chews), and put utensils down between bites
  4. 4.Notice flavors, textures, and temperature as they change throughout the meal
  5. 5.Stop eating when you reach 7/10 fullness — it takes 20 minutes for satiety signals to reach the brain
