Electrolyte Optimization

health · easy · 1 minute/day

What is Electrolyte Optimization?

Most people are chronically under-electrolted, not dehydrated. Proper sodium, potassium, and magnesium intake eliminates brain fog, headaches, cramps, and the '3pm crash' better than caffeine.

Is there evidence for it?

How do you do Electrolyte Optimization?

  1. 1.Add a pinch of high-quality salt to your morning water (or use LMNT/Drip Drop)
  2. 2.Target: 3-5g sodium, 3.5-5g potassium, 300-400mg magnesium daily from food + supplements
  3. 3.Increase electrolytes when: fasting, low-carb, exercising, sweating, drinking coffee
  4. 4.Signs you need more: headache, fatigue, muscle cramps, brain fog, dizziness
  5. 5.Make your own electrolyte drink: 1/2 tsp salt + squeeze of lemon + water (almost free)

How long does it take?

1 minute/day.

Is it hard to start?

easy.
