How do you do Oxygen Advantage (Buteyko Breathing)?
- 1.Measure your BOLT score: breathe normally, exhale, pinch nose, time until first urge to breathe
- 2.Practice nasal breathing exclusively during all daily activities and light exercise
- 3.Do 'reduced breathing' exercises: breathe less than you want to for 5 minutes, 3x daily
- 4.Simulate altitude training: walk while holding breath after exhale for 15-40 paces, recover, repeat 8-10x
- 5.Progress through exercises until BOLT score reaches 40 seconds (typically 6-8 weeks)
