Huberman Focus Protocol (90-Minute Ultradian Cycles)
focus · medium · 90 minutes per focus block, 2-3 blocks/day
What is Huberman Focus Protocol (90-Minute Ultradian Cycles)?
Work in 90-minute focused blocks aligned with your brain's natural ultradian rhythm. Within each block: first 5-10 min of agitation is NORMAL (it's your brain ramping up), peak focus hits around 20-30 min in, then taper off.

How do you do Huberman Focus Protocol (90-Minute Ultradian Cycles)?
- 1.Set a 90-minute timer for your most important work. Remove all distractions: phone in another room, notifications off, door closed
- 2.Expect the first 5-10 minutes to feel hard — your brain needs to ramp up acetylcholine and norepinephrine. Don't bail because it's uncomfortable
- 3.Peak focus typically arrives 20-30 minutes in. Ride this wave as long as it lasts
- 4.When the 90 minutes are up, take a genuine 15-20 minute break: go outside, walk, rest your eyes. No screens during the break
- 5.Do 2-3 of these blocks per day maximum. After 3 blocks of deep focus, your brain is genuinely spent — don't force a 4th
How long does it take?
90 minutes per focus block, 2-3 blocks/day.
