What is Positive Discipline Parenting?
Set firm boundaries with warmth and respect — no punishment, no permissiveness. Based on Adlerian psychology: children misbehave because they feel disconnected, not because they're bad. Connection before correction.

How do you do Positive Discipline Parenting?
- 1.Replace punishment with natural/logical consequences: 'You threw the toy, so the toy goes away for the rest of the day' (not 'Go to your room')
- 2.Connect before you correct: when a child is upset, get on their level, validate their feeling first ('I can see you're really frustrated'), THEN address the behavior
- 3.Hold family meetings weekly: discuss what's working, what isn't, and solve problems together. Even 4-year-olds can participate
- 4.Use 'curiosity questions' instead of lectures: 'What happened? How did that make you feel? What could you do differently next time?'
- 5.When you lose your temper (you will), repair immediately: 'I yelled, and that wasn't okay. I was frustrated, and I'm sorry. Let's try again'
How long does it take?
