What is Contrast Shower Therapy?

Alternate between hot and cold water during your shower: 1-2 min hot, 30 sec cold, repeat 3-5x. More practical than cold plunges, equally effective for mood, circulation, and immune function. The Dutch study showed 29% fewer sick days.

How do you do Contrast Shower Therapy?

  1. 1.Start your shower normally with warm water. After washing, turn it to the coldest setting for 30 seconds
  2. 2.Return to warm for 1-2 minutes, then cold again for 30 seconds. Repeat 3-5 times total
  3. 3.Always END on cold if you want energy, or warm if you want relaxation
  4. 4.Progress over weeks: start with 15-second cold bursts, work up to 30-60 seconds. The discomfort should feel challenging but not unbearable
  5. 5.The Dutch study (2016, PLOS ONE, 3000+ participants): those who did contrast showers had 29% fewer sick days. Even 30 seconds of cold showed benefits
