How do you do Sensory Deprivation Float Tank?

  1. 1.Find a local float center (search 'float tank' or 'sensory deprivation' near you). Most offer intro sessions for $40-60. Book 90 minutes for your first time (60 feels too short)
  2. 2.Before floating: shower (required), insert earplugs (they provide them), enter the tank, close the door. Lie back — the 1000+ lbs of Epsom salt makes you float effortlessly
  3. 3.First 20 minutes: restlessness, itches, thoughts racing. This is normal. Focus on your breath. Let go of trying to 'do it right' — there is no right way
  4. 4.Minutes 20-60: your brain shifts into theta waves. You may lose track of where your body ends and the water begins. Creative insights, deep relaxation, sometimes vivid imagery
  5. 5.Frequency: once per month is transformative. Once per week is elite-level recovery. Many athletes (Steph Curry, Tom Brady) and high performers float regularly. The magnesium absorption alone is worth it

How long does it take?
