The Wheel of Life Assessment

What is The Wheel of Life Assessment?

Draw a circle divided into 8 segments representing life areas: health, career, finances, relationships, fun, personal growth, physical environment, and family. Rate satisfaction 1-10 in each and shade accordingly. A visual snapshot revealing which areas of your life are round (balanced) and which are flat.

Is there evidence for it?

How do you do The Wheel of Life Assessment?

  1. 1.Draw a circle and divide it into 8 equal segments (like a pizza). Label each: Health, Career/Work, Finances, Love/Romance, Fun/Recreation, Personal Growth, Physical Environment, Friends/Family
  2. 2.For each segment, rate your current satisfaction 1-10. 1 is at the center (terrible), 10 is at the outer edge (amazing). Mark your rating point
  3. 3.Connect the dots. The resulting shape shows your 'wheel of life.' A perfect circle (all 10s) would roll smoothly. Your bumpy, uneven shape shows where your life is 'flat'
  4. 4.Focus on the flattest areas first: what would move a 3 to a 5? Often it's something simple and specific that you've been avoiding
  5. 5.Redo this monthly. Watch the shape change over time. The goal isn't all 10s (that's impossible) — it's a wheel round enough to actually roll forward. A 6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6 is better than a 10-10-2-2-10-10-2-2

How long does it take?

15 minutes for the assessment.

Is it hard to start?

easy.
