Hydration Performance Protocol

What is Hydration Performance Protocol?
Even mild dehydration (1-2% body water loss) impairs cognitive performance, mood, and energy levels according to research from the University of Connecticut's Human Performance Laboratory. Most people chronically underhydrate without realizing it. This protocol uses strategic timing and electrolyte balance rather than just drinking more water — because hydration is about cellular absorption, not just fluid volume.

How do you do Hydration Performance Protocol?
- 1.Drink 16-24 oz of water with a pinch of sea salt immediately upon waking — you lose significant water during sleep through breathing
- 2.Use the simple formula: drink half your body weight in ounces daily (e.g., 160 lbs = 80 oz minimum)
- 3.Front-load hydration: drink 60% of your daily water before 2 PM, then taper — this prevents nighttime bathroom trips
- 4.Add electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium) to at least one glass daily — especially if you exercise or drink coffee, which are diuretics
- 5.Track your hydration using urine color as a simple biomarker: pale yellow = well hydrated, dark yellow = dehydrated
How long does it take?
Minimal — habit adjustment only.
Is it hard to start?
easy.
