structure · medium · 4-6 hours initial audit, 2 hours quarterly refresh

What is 80/20 Life Audit?

Applying the Pareto Principle to every area of your life: identifying the 20% of activities, relationships, habits, and commitments that produce 80% of your satisfaction, results, and energy — then restructuring to double down on the vital few and eliminate the trivial many.

How do you do 80/20 Life Audit?

  1. 1.Track your time for 2 weeks using a simple log, categorizing every activity and rating its output (results, joy, energy) on a 1-10 scale
  2. 2.Apply the 80/20 lens to each life area: Which 20% of relationships bring 80% of your fulfillment? Which 20% of work tasks produce 80% of your results? Which 20% of spending brings 80% of your satisfaction?
  3. 3.Create two lists: 'Double Down' (the vital 20% to invest more in) and 'Eliminate/Delegate' (the trivial 80% to reduce, delegate, or remove entirely)
  4. 4.Restructure your week to give disproportionate time and energy to your 'Double Down' list — this means actively saying no to good things that aren't great things
  5. 5.Repeat this audit quarterly, because your vital 20% shifts as your life circumstances, goals, and seasons change

How long does it take?

4-6 hours initial audit, 2 hours quarterly refresh.

Is it hard to start?

medium.
