What is Boundaries Setting Framework?

Boundaries aren't walls — they're bridges with gates. Learn to say no without guilt, communicate your limits clearly, and stop people-pleasing. The most important relationship skill most people never learn.

How do you do Boundaries Setting Framework?

  1. 1.Start with awareness: where do you feel resentful, drained, or taken advantage of? Those are boundary violations you've been tolerating
  2. 2.Use the boundary formula: 'When you [specific behavior], I feel [emotion]. I need [specific change]. If this continues, I will [consequence].'
  3. 3.Practice with low-stakes boundaries first: 'I can't stay late today', 'I need 10 minutes alone before we talk', 'I don't want to discuss that topic'
  4. 4.Expect pushback: people who benefited from your lack of boundaries will resist. Their discomfort doesn't mean your boundary is wrong
  5. 5.Internal boundaries matter too: set limits with yourself on social media time, people-pleasing, overcommitting, or substances. Use 'I don't' instead of 'I can't' — it's identity-based, not willpower-based

How long does it take?

Ongoing practice in daily life.

Is it hard to start?

hard.
