How do you do Magnesium Optimization Protocol?
- 1.For sleep + brain health: Magnesium L-threonate (Magtein) — 2g (yields 145mg elemental Mg) before bed. This is the only form that crosses the blood-brain barrier
- 2.For anxiety + muscle cramps: Magnesium glycinate — 200-400mg before bed. Very calming, excellent absorption, gentle on stomach
- 3.For constipation + general: Magnesium citrate — 200-400mg. Good bioavailability but can cause loose stools (feature, not a bug, for constipation)
- 4.AVOID: Magnesium oxide — cheap and everywhere, but only 4% bioavailable. You're basically buying expensive laxative
- 5.Start with one form, take for 2 weeks, then add another if needed. Many people benefit from glycinate at night + citrate in morning
How long does it take?
10 seconds to take.
