Spaced Learning Protocol

What is Spaced Learning Protocol?

Instead of cramming, space your learning sessions with breaks between them. Study for 15 min, break for 10, study for 15, break for 10, study for 15. This triples long-term retention compared to 45 minutes straight. Your brain encodes during the breaks.

How do you do Spaced Learning Protocol?

  1. 1.When learning something new: study for 15-20 minutes of focused attention
  2. 2.Take a 10-minute break with NO stimulation: walk, stare out window, lie down. NOT social media or TV — your brain is consolidating during this break
  3. 3.Return for another 15-20 minute study block. Repeat for 2-3 cycles total
  4. 4.For day-over-day spacing: review material at increasing intervals: same day, next day, 3 days later, 1 week later, 2 weeks later. This is the spaced repetition curve
  5. 5.Use Anki or flashcard apps for the spaced repetition schedule — they automate the timing based on your recall accuracy

How long does it take?

Same total study time, just distributed differently.

Is it hard to start?

easy.
