How do you do Self-Determination Need Satisfaction?

  1. 1.Audit your week: for each major activity, rate your sense of autonomy (choice), competence (mastery), and relatedness (connection) on a 1-10 scale
  2. 2.Design 'autonomy boosters' — identify 3 areas where you can increase personal choice (e.g., choosing how/when to do tasks, not just what to do)
  3. 3.Create a 'competence ladder' — break a challenging goal into micro-milestones that provide regular mastery experiences
  4. 4.Schedule one 'relatedness ritual' daily — a meaningful social interaction where you feel genuinely seen and valued
  5. 5.Weekly reflection: which need was most neglected? Design one specific action to address it next week

How long does it take?

10-15 minutes daily reflection + integrated into daily activities.

Is it hard to start?

medium.
